We provide the pre-admission guidance patients need.

Once your doctor schedules your surgery, a registered nurse will call you for a phone history and physical assessment, medication and herbal list, and instructions regarding your upcoming surgery.  Also, if you follow a special diet, please let us know at this time, so we can accommodate your needs.

Your surgeon may ask you to visit us for a pre-operative assessment.  Upon arrival, please check in at the hospital admissions desk and we will ensure that all of your pre-operative needs are cared for.  We welcome family and /or caregivers to attend this appointment in order to support you during your recuperation.

You will receive information regarding where to come the day of surgery, pain control methods, potential equipment that may be used during and after your hospital stay, and discharge planning.  On the day of surgery, the anesthesiologist will review your medical history to determine which anesthetic option is appropriate for you.

For any questions regarding your surgery, you may contact our Pre-admission Testing department at 210-478-5403.
