Dr. Jackson is board certified in both Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He completed his undergraduate training Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Biophysics. He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport and completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Following this, he fulfilled post-doctorate training with a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Pain Society, and Texas Medical Association, and the North American Neuromodulation Society. In treating individuals with syndromes of pain, Dr. Jackson believes in a holistic approach, focusing on musculoskeletal reorganization – stabilization through physical/occupation therapy and other modalities, patient education, constructive psychosocial reinforcement, and positive lifestyle modifications. He has several interests including musculoskeletal medicine, cancer pain, electrodiagnostic medicine, vertebral augmentation, and spinal neuromodulation. Dr. Jackson is married and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family. Additionally, he is a musician and has interests in multiple sports.
