Dr. Naveen Kella is a board certified urologist and founder of The Urology Place. As a part of the multidisciplinary practice, Dr. Kella is committed to a comprehensive and compassionate team approach in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing follow-up care of every urology patient. He specializes in conditions including but not limited to: prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, and kidney stones. The Stanford University graduate completed medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern, and completed his internship and residency at Tufts, New England Medical Center in Boston. With a background in chemical engineering and riveted by robotics, Dr. Kella completed his robotic surgery and urologic oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Kella performed the region’s first robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer in November 2003 and then the first robotic cystectomy to treat bladder cancer the following year. Now he has performed more than 2000 surgeries and is listed as a 2012 Texas Super Doctor, an honor reserved for fewer than 5 percent of physicians within the state. Dr. Kella has served as an investigator on dozens of clinical research studies, has authored several publications and presentations, and has performed many robotic prostatectomies viewed by large audiences via live broadcast. Texas raised, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and loves to play sports.
