Frank "Terive" Duperier, MD, Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Frank Dauterive “Terive” Duperier is a San Antonio native who earned a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience from Brown University. He attended the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree.

While completing his surgical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, he developed an interest in minimally invasive surgery as he worked under the guidance of world renowned laparoscopic surgeons.

Following his residency, Dr. Duperier attended the Cleveland Clinic for sub-specialty training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, which resulted in his expertise in numerous laparoscopic procedures including gastric bypass, repair of paraesophageal, ventral, and inguinal hernias, splenectomy and adrenalectomy, Nissen Fundoplication for reflux (GERD), Heller myotomy for achalasia, and radio-frequency ablation for liver tumors.

Dr. Duperier was named a "Top Doctor" in the most recent issue of Scene in SA Monthly magazine in the area of bariatric surgery. His professional memberships include the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the Bexar County Medical Society and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
